We have a new puppy coming into our house on Friday so I am sure there won't be very much "art time". It is going to be all about the new puppy. Her name is Noli after our favorite Italian pastry: Canoli. Obviously the result of too many trips to the North End in Boston!

National Marfan HeARTworks artist heart

Hi all!
I spent my "rain" day off on Friday working on my newest work of art which is to be donated to the National Marfan Foundation's annual fund raising gala. Artists create 3-D hearts for this well attended event in New York. Last year for the gala, I created an oil painting entitled: "Ribbons of Hope". You can view it on this site in an earlier blog.
This year I am creating a 3-D heart with the same ribbons of hope theme. The ribbons represent the genetic "ribbon" and research being done by dedicated doctors to help people with connective tissue disease. The rose represents a beautiful affected heart. All hearts are sold at a silent auction during the event.
I want to thank Cathie at the National Marfan's Foundation for her encouragement and support.
Keep checking back into this site to see my progress. Judi

Hi everyone! I haven't been painting too much lately but I wanted to share a "fun" oil I did around Halloween. Not quite sure what my inspiration was. (Yes, I created this before the movie "Where the Wild Things Are" even though most who see this painting sense a "wild thing" element. Oh well!
I am in the mist of a new painting from my visit to Pemaquid Point Light. Only have a small section completed. I'll share more as a - work in progress.
JT's Paintings
My son JT has become quite the painter and I wanted to share with you a few of his images. He recently had three of his works juried into the senior exhibit at the USM gallery and they all got in! He also was awarded the president's award and won the juror's award. I see a bright future in the arts for him. John and I are very proud of his accomplishments.
His next exhibit will be at University of New England. It will run from the middle of December through January. Meet the artist reception on Sunday, Dec. 20.
